Your Homes Newcastle has purchased 50,284sq ft of high specification industrial
space, securing a base beside the popular A1 corridor on one of the region’s most
prestigious business parks.
The organisation which is responsible for managing council homes on behalf of
Newcastle City Council will use the space to house Newcastle Furniture Service
(NFS). The service provides 8,500 tenants across the North East and Yorkshire
with the things that help turn a house into a home, including white goods, sofas
and beds.
NFS Manager Jason Wylie, said: “NFS is now the largest furnished tenancy provider
in the UK and we have outgrown our current accommodation. The move to Gateway
West gives us further room to develop the service and provides a modern and fit-for-purpose
environment for our team. The excellent transport links will make it easier for
us to reach tenants across the region.”
Agents are also reporting further interest in several of the eleven remaining
BREEAM Excellent rated industrial / warehouse units, ranging from 5,288sq ft to
25,125sq ft.
